I see over at Cakewalk’s main site they have a link for their new V-Studio product package.

What is V-Studio?

Well according to their site it’s:

VS-700C Studio Console

VS-700R Studio I/O

Roland Fantom VS Hardware Synth

Sonar 8 Producer Edition

No word on the $$$ for this bundle but it will probably be up there… I’m really intrigued by the VS-700C Studio Console, it looks to have all the functions out of the gate with Sonar that you have to program other controllers manually to accomplish. Like my M-Audio ProjectMIX I/O, it’s a great product also but a little cumbersome to cofigure etc.

I have no clue who Marc Ecko is, but this looks damn cool.

So I saw this earlier this morning over at the Cakewalk website.

I’ve yet to find any details on the upcoming release, but as soon as I do I’ll let you know.

So I bought my current television about two years ago. A Sony Grand Wega 50″ projection beauty. One of the things I loved about this set was that it had a native 1920 x 1080 display resolution. Two HDMI, two component, and various other ports including an optical output for audio.

What I didn’t know (at the time) was that this particular television was that though it supported 1080p resolution natively on it’s display it did not accept 1080p input, via HDMI or Component video connections.

Huba…? You might say. Well it turns out that certain older Sony’s (as well as other TV manufacturers) would up convert their signals to 1080p but didn’t accept those signals on the inputs since at the time of design/shipping there weren’t devices that supported that output. (riiiiggghhtttt)

It’s even printed on the component video inputs.

[sigh]

For the most part 1080i versus 1080p is not decernable by most users especially given certain applications.

I just wish they had made that more clear to me way back when, when I asked that very question at a large shop which will remain nameless.

Again, oh well.

Interesting for all those gearheads out there that want to sorta walk from way back to the now.

Well looks like it finally happened… a price drop in the sexy Yamaha Motif-Rack ES unit.

I snagged mine way back when for $200 [US] more… for either price it’s well worth the money.
