What Just Happened

So I’m sure all you Kevin Smith fans out there are rabidly waiting for the release of his latest, ehm… “film” Zack and Miri Make a Porno which comes out in late October.

It seems that he (Smith) is sort of bending over so to speak… again, with what appears to be The Undeclared, Knocked Up, 40 Year Old, Sarah Marshall part Deux.

I’m just saying is all… Of course, I know I’ll be interested in seeing it, for sure on DVD in December. ;-)]

It’s going to be in at least twenty “U.S.” cities with some double-dates in certain larger cities.

Wait you’ve never heard of of My Name Is Bruce? Worse yet you’ve never heard of Bruce Campbell?

Consider yourself in the know (in a B minus sort of way) now.

Is anyone planning on catching the latest installment of Narnia this Friday in theaters?

Or are you just going to wait for DVD like a lot of people  these days myself included.

So the Bunny and I happened to watch the directorial debut of Kevin Smith film alum Ben Afleck, titled Gone Baby Gone.

I guess Mr. “What’s Your Favorite New Kid” believes that really long and drawn out camera pans and holds as well as over done facial expressions create for a “dramatic” or “heartfelt” perhaps “compelling” film.

For me I was disappointed, mostly because Mork never showed up.

So how many of you went and saw Iron Man (in theaters) this past weekend?

How many of you are planning on seeing Batman 1.5, errr I mean Batman The Dark Knight when it comes out a bit later this summer?

Well let me save you some money and show you the two combined and condensed, enjoy.

The Bunny and I caught Death At A Funeral this past week and were entertained for the most part. It’s pretty standard UK comedic faire and did make me want to sit through the “real” Office again… (this proved impossible since someone still has my copy, as well as some other important DVDs).

I was pretty tickled by Alan Tudyk’s appearance in the film, I mean there should just be more Steve the Pirate everywhere.

I’m not really sure what to say about this “movie”, but it does sound… ummmm intriguing?

Three members of an elite government agency called the Hip-Hop Task Force are sent to Los Angeles to investigate the murder of up-and-coming rap star Elliot Jones. The investigation reveals the inner workings of the Feds involvement with the Hip Hop community and reveals the governments association with hot button topics such as “studio gangsters” and “the stop snitchin movement.” As the investigation takes unexpected turns, the only sure thing is: lyrics can become deadly.

Yeah I just really don’t know what to say.

I guess this is volume two, which means there was a volume one, I’m in the wrong business.

So last night the Bunny and myself decided to rent some movies one of which was the often talked about Cloverfield and I’m not really sure what to say other than… we barely got thirty or so minutes into the movie.

I just can’t even bring myself back to watching this thing… all I can say is to really sum this thing up would be: Blair Witch Camera Work + Cheesy Porn Movie Acting / Video Game Special Effects * Lawrence of Arabia Running Time = The cinematic algebraic formula for F’ This I’m Outta Here.

I sort of get what the “filmmakers” were trying to do I suppose but ultimately I just didn’t care… and as almost all “filmmakers” will tell you, if you don’t care… chances are you’ll start to watch reruns of Buck Rogers.
