[TV] Bite My Shiny Metal Ass, Finally

Filed under: Coolness, General, Interesting, TV — Zay @ 9:31:59 am

I missed Futurama for a minute, it was the only thing that Groening was doing that was still “relevant”. (Yeah that’s right fanboy I said it, the Simpsons lost it’s luster about ten years ago.)

Yeah way to go with that movie finally, only a decade too late too. Pfffttt.

What is it these days, South Park, Family Guy and then the Simpsons… (maybe, if you don’t include any Adult Swim shows).

And that’s a maybe…..

[Joke] Cons?

Rubber Check

A man walks into a drugstore and asks the pharmacist for a pack of condoms. Paying for them, he bursts into laughter and walks out of the store. The next day he comes in again, again buys condoms, and again walks out laughing. Thinking this is somewhat strange, the pharmacist asks his assistant to follow the man if he comes back. Sure enough, the man comes in the next day and walks out laughing. This time the assistant goes after him, returning 20 minutes later.

“So did you follow him?” asks the pharmacist.

“Yup.”

“Where did he go?”

“Your house.”

I wonder if they (Innovative Artists) were responsible for his involvement in that headache My Boss’s Daughter?

[Music] These Words (I Love You, I Love You)

Filed under: General, Interesting, Music, Women — Zay @ 9:33:16 am

Natasha Bedingfield

[These Words (I Love You, I Love You)]

Bedingfield began recording her debut album in mid-2003, following the signing of a recording contract with Sony BMG earlier that year.[1] She was determined not to be shaped into “some music biz pigeonhole” and wanted to write songs that were “organic, different and real”.[2] Bedingfield began collaborating with Steve Kipner, Andrew Frampton and Wayne Wilkins in London and Los Angeles, but their sessions were largely unproductive due to Bedingfield’s writer’s block and the pressure that she felt to produce a hit song.[2] Frustrated, she began to sing “I love you, I love you, I love you” over and over. She was at “wit’s end and just wanted to say what I meant in a simple way, without using all those flowery words.”[3] The line that Bedingfield sang out of frustration became the song’s hook and its subject matter inspired by her real life difficulty writing a love song. These words are my own

Threw some chords together
The combination D-E-F
Is who I am, is what I do
And I was gonna lay it down for you
Try to focus my attention
But I feel so A-D-D
I need some help, some inspiration
(But it’s not coming easily)
Whoah oh…

Trying to find the magic
Trying to write a classic
Don’t you know, don’t you know, don’t you know?
Waste-bin full of paper
Clever rhymes, see you later

These words are my own
From my heart flow
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
There’s no other way
To better say
I love you, I love you…

Read some Byron, Shelly and Keats
Recited it over a Hip-Hop beat
I’m having trouble saying what I mean
With dead poets and drum machines
I know I had some studio time booked
But I couldn’t find a killer hook
Now you’ve gone & raised the bar right up
Nothing I write is ever good enough

These words are my own
From my heart flow
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
There’s no other way
To better say
I love you, I love you…

I’m getting off my stage
The curtains pull away
No hyperbole to hide behind
My naked soul exposes
Whoah.. oh.. oh.. oh.. Whoah.. oh..

Trying to find the magic
Trying to write a classic
Waste-bin full of paper
Clever rhymes, see you later

These words are my own
From my heart flow
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you

That’s all I got to say,
Can’t think of a better way,
And that’s all I’ve got to say,
I love you, is that okay?

This song was produced by Steve Kipner, Andrew Frampton and Wayne Wilson.

Dr. Dre’s new album to be his last? [Y! Music]

Dr. Dre has confirmed that his new album Detox is likely to be his last solo album. The follow-up to 1999’s 2001 was supposed to be out this year, but will now be released in 2008.

Dre has revealed he has two or three tracks left to record, saying: “I was really hoping to have it out this year, but it’s going to be pushed back a while because of some other things I’ve got to work on.”

Remember it (the article) over here.

If you read the article you’ll get the impression that what Dre is saying is in fact nothing more then my record will drop in ‘08.

[Music / Gear] What Goes Around…

Electronic artists find inspiration in vintage gear [Reuters]

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Before preset sound banks overflowed with prefab beats, electronic musicians made them from scratch with freestanding synthesizers.

Before drag and drop, remixers physically cut and spliced tape to move sonic parts. When the digital production revolution finally did come, dance producers led the charge, emboldened by the standardization of sounds and methods they had pioneered. Since then, nothing has sped the genre’s growth (or dilution, according to some) more than the advent of increasingly cheap, easily manipulated software.
